Salvation Army / Singapore

This project seeks to enhance the shopping experience of the thrift store and to reach out to new consumers who are willing to purchase second-hand products that are still in good usable condition. Organized by Hjgher, we designed a space that answers to the brief.

The design of the space is about creating a refreshing atmosphere for the presentation of the items. Each item is specially selected, cleaned, and arranged. Like a prized certificate, the entire space is then framed up in blue bold lines.

As we walk through the arrangement, we are given time and space to ponder upon the beauty and functions of the objects, and to questions our own needs for this product before bringing them home.

We become conscious of the lifespan of our wants and needs, choosing to buy not because an item is cheap, but because of our appreciation of the object’s intrinsic value.
